Backyard Concert Series
Backyard Music Series is a multi-genre, multi-venue, concert series connecting audiences to their curiosity, each other, and the musicians they came to see (or didn’t). Each night of this 3-concert series is a unique sonic blend of rap, classical, pop, metal, avant-garde, and a few niches in between. (Oddly, none of the concerts are in a backyard.)
Each concert features a co-producing core of local independent musicians (info below): Rapper/Beatboxer Carnage The Executioner; New Music Specialist Elena Stabile; and Classical/Experimental/Metal Vocalist Justin Spenner. They are joined by a rotating group of fellow artists, creating a seamless 90-minute music experience. Here’s another twist: repeat artists never repeat a set. That's just good business.
The series occurs across the Twin Cities at a Barely Brothers Records (record store), Squirrel Haus Arts (art gallery/punk venue), and Nautilus Music-Theater (theater space). That’s another treat for the three-concert goer: shifting vibes, familiar faces.
This Week: To Be Named, Thing (Microtonal Improv Choir); Larry Wish (Avant-Pop); Carnage The Executioner (Beatbox sets)
